Embedded Linux Engineer

Description

We are looking for an experienced Embedded Linux Engineer for a technically challenging assignment with an international product development company. You will work with an established embedded product platform where reliability, technical quality and structured verification are essential. The assignment requires strong knowledge of low-level Linux development and the ability to work independently within an existing system architecture.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Upgrading, configuring, adapting and building Linux kernels.
  • Developing and maintaining Linux-based embedded systems without a Memory Management Unit (MMU).
  • Developing and modifying embedded software in C.
  • Analysing existing system architecture and legacy source code.
  • Troubleshooting software and system-level issues.
  • Verifying new functionality directly on embedded product hardware.
  • Documenting technical changes, findings and verification results.
  • Collaborating with software, electronics and verification engineers.

Your background

We believe you have:

  • Strong experience in Linux kernel configuration, adaptation and build processes.
  • Documented experience with Linux-based embedded systems without an MMU.
  • Strong programming skills in C.
  • Experience working close to embedded hardware.
  • Experience analysing and maintaining existing or legacy codebases.
  • Good knowledge of debugging and verification in embedded environments.
  • The ability to understand complex systems and take ownership of technical tasks.

Experience from regulated industries, medical technology or other product environments with high requirements for quality, reliability and traceability is considered an advantage.

Who you are

You are independent, methodical and solution-oriented. You enjoy understanding how existing systems work and are comfortable investigating complex technical problems with limited initial guidance. You communicate clearly, document your work carefully and collaborate effectively with different engineering disciplines.

Interested? If this assignment sounds relevant to you—or if you know someone who could be a strong match—we would be happy to hear from you.
